Feliu Maseras received his PhD from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 1991. His scientific career led him to long-term postdoctoral stays at the Institute for Molecular Science (IMS, Okazaki, Japan, with Prof. Morokuma) and the Université de Montpellier 2 - CNRS (France, with Prof. Eisentein). In 1998, he obtained a tenured position at the UAB, in the Prof. Lledós group, from where he moved in 2004 to his current position as research group leader at the Institut Català d'Investigació Química (ICIQ). His work has focused on the application of computational chemistry methods to the solution of problems of practical interest. His research began with the reactivity of organometallic complexes, and has subsequently been extended to homogeneous catalysis, with a special focus on cross-coupling reactions and activation of C-H bonds. He has received several awards, including the "Chemical Society Reviews lectures award 2008", the "Physical Chemistry" excellence award of the RSEQ in 2011, and the Rafael Usón medal of the GEQO of the RSEQ in 2024.
